Bridge

so, the old jamestown bridge was blown up last week. that's quite a bit of news for rhody ... and i finally found a video of it, so i had to post. the old jamestown bridge was probably the scariest bridge ... ever. if you didn't have a fear of bridges (or heights) before driving over the old jamestown bridge, then you certainly did afterwards. it was two lanes, undivided and had steal grates at the highest point of the bridge, so you could look down and see the water. oh, yeah, and it swayed in high winds. swayed!

on a side note ... my mom mentioned to me (i couldn't find a news story about it, but i didn't look too hard) that the demo and clean-up crews didn't account for how far the falling steal beams would be driven into the mud of the narragansett bay ... so they are experiencing "difficulties".
