College

i finally "found" my old computer from college ... a friend of mine was hoarding it for his own purposes. and by "purposes" i mean "bookcase". we wouldn't want those books to get wet when the basement floods, would we? so, imagine my surprise when i found the hard drive intact. immediately, i fired her up ... and stepped back in time. among school papers, saved aim conversations (awful), and a few strange documents (one titled "i'm out" ... what?), i hit the jackpot. my music. oh, how i've missed my music. mind you, in the years since college, i've started up a new music collection ... but nothing can replace the gems i found while in college. here's a sample (with a couple of comments, of course):

when i see you smile - bad english
circle in the sand - belinda carlisle
take my breath away - berlin (top gun, baby, top gun)
kiss the rain - billie myers (the lyrics are ridiculous, but i can't help myself)
hit 'em up style - blue cantrell
amanda - boston
leaving on a jet plane - chantal kreviazuk
look away - chicagorun - collective soul
time after time - cyndi lauper
he wasn't man enough - toni braxton ("i've already had your man")
sweet jane - cowboy junkies (natural born killers version)
kissing you - des'ree
human - human league (i'm pretty sure my brother and i made fun of this song a lot)
walking on sunshine - katrina and the waves (listened to this one every day during exams, sophomore year)
crush - jennifer paige ("it's just some little thing, not like everything i do depends on you")
pretty girl - jon b.
scream - michael & janet jackson
hate me now - nas (for no other reason than for running purposes and when i was angry)
set adrift on memory - pm dawn
6 underground - sneaker pimps
purest of pain - son of four (spanglish version)

now tell me that's not pure gold.
